Rev Dr Johnston McMaster will deliver the Centre for Contemporary Christianity’s Catherwood Lecture:
With the Centenary of the Ulster Covenant this year this lecture will provide an opportunity to reflect on significant political and religious events which have affected our history and to consider an alternative vision for the Church in Ireland for 2012 and the years ahead. McMaster is a well-known local Methodist minister who is lecturer and co-ordinator of the Education for Reconciliation programme, Irish School of Ecumenics, Belfast. His doctorate research included history, theology and politics in an examination of the period from the first Home Rule Bill of 1886 to the Anglo-Irish Agreement of 1985. This is an open event, so please also invite anyone who might be interested.

There will be a time for questions and discussion following the lecture.
He has been involved as a consultant with statutory and voluntary sectors in Northern Ireland and chairs a number of initiatives as well as working collaboratively with community relations networks.
