Idolatry of God event to be run by ISE Research Associate Peter Rollins in Belfast 23-26 April
This intimite event run by Peter Rollins is designed to delve into the theory and practice of pyrotheology. Using in-depth talks, discussions and interactive workshops it will flesh out a radically different expression of faith, one that cuts across the usual divisions between theist and atheist, believer and unbeliever, religious and spiritual.
Whether inside or outside the current religious structure this event has been crafted for those who are interested in seriously exploring the radical kernel of Christianity. The whole event is designed to show how we can create collectives that empower people to fully embrace difficulties, face up to unknowing, and reconnect with the depth of our lives.
This event will not simply offer formal teaching, but will include a rich tapestry of fringe events such as workshops, live music, cultural explorations and art. Over the course of the event we are committed to creating a unique and vibrant experience that shows the context out of which this movement grew, offer ways of putting the ideas into practice and provides space for people to experience Northern Ireland in all of its beauty and history.
