Gladys Ganiel Speaks at Presbyterian Moderator’s Visit to NUI Maynooth

morrowPattonGanielDr Gladys Ganiel was one of the speakers at a colloquium to mark the visit of Rev Dr Roy Patton, the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, on an official visit to the National University of Ireland Maynooth. It is the first ever official visit of a Presbyterian Moderator to the University. The visit also recognised the 400th anniversary of the arrival of Presbyterianism in Ireland.

The colloquium was organised by NUI Maynooth’s new Centre for the Study of Irish Protestantism and the Kennedy Institute on Conflict Resolution. Dr Ganiel spoke on ‘The Churches and Reconciliation in Ireland: Challenges and Opportunities.’ Rev Dr Trevor Morrow of Lucan Presbyterian spoke on ‘The Ulster Covenant, the Reformed Churches and Irish Identity.’
