Denis Halliday is former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Mary Lawlor is Director of Front Line, The International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders.
Denis Halliday and Mary Lawlor were both panel members of the People’s Tribunal on Sri Lanka, which met in Dublin in January of this year. The Tribunal found the Sri Lankan government guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the final phase of the civil war in 2009, and that the international community shared responsibility for the breakdown of the peace process in Sri Lanka.
